Love Fame Tragedy announces debut album ‘Wherever I Go, I Want To Leave’

The Wombats‘ frontman Matthew Murphy’s side project Love Fame Tragedy has finally announced his debut album, Wherever I Go, I Want To Leave.

The album is set to be 17 tracks now, and will feature the 10 already released tracks taken from his two previous EPs – 2019’s I Don’t Want to Play the Victim, But I’m Really Good at It and 2020’s Five Songs to Briefly Fill the Void – as well as seven completely new tracks.

To coincide with the announcement, Murphy’s released the first of the seven new tracks, ‘5150’, named after a law in California, titled the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act, which pertains to the temporary and involuntary psychiatric commitment of those who present a danger to themselves or society due to mental illness.

“In this case it refers more to how I occasionally feel a need to escape, regardless of the repercussions,” Murphy said in a press statement.

Wherever I Go, I Want To Leave also features a slew of collaborators from across the world, including members of Gang Of Youths, Pixies, alt-J, The Killers, Crystal Fighters and more.

Wherever I Go, I Want To Leave is out Friday, 10th July.
