Ninajirachi has formally detailed her debut studio album, entitled I Love My Computer. The album is set for release on Friday, August 8th via NLV Records – the label owned and run by fellow Australian DJ and producer Nina Las Vegas. It follows on from last year’s Girl EDM (Disc 1), which was an expanded edition of her 2022 EP of the same name with previously-unreleased tracks and mixes.
To coincide with the album announcement, Ninajirachi has shared its third single, ‘iPod Touch’. It was co-written and co-produced by Darcy Baylis, and comes after the release of ‘All I Am’ in February and ‘Fuck My Computer’ in May. In a press statement, the producer described the song as an ode to “stumbling upon my favourite music online when I was 12 and it cracking my whole world open”. “None of my friends at school liked electronic music, so it felt like a secret or something,” she said.
“I started spending a lot of late nights on the computer trying to soak up everything I could, not realising how much a random discovery and curiosity would end up shaping my life. It’s about [going to] high school in Gosford, Supré shorts, sneaking out to smoke, [getting the] bus to the beach after school, going to the shops [and the] second generation iPod Touch. [The song] sounds like something I would have loved at that pivotal time, which makes me feel so happy.”

The producer further elaborated on why she chose the album’s title. Although it reads with a humourous, memetic tone, the producer insists there is a level of sincerity to it. “I’ve spent more time with my computer than any one person,” she said. “It helped me discover who I am, and raised me – for better or worse. I may never have discovered electronic music without it, because I’m from a town in regional Australia and it’s not really a place where that exists. It’s a big contrast, actually. All of my music is computer music; it’s my instrument, and I don’t know who I would be without it.”
