Coachella Music and Arts Festival, along with its sister festival Stagecoach, have reportedly been postponed for the third time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both festivals were scheduled to take place in April. Given that organisers have yet to publicly respond to the news, no new dates have been announced as of yet.
As Billboard reports, though festival organisers themselves have yet to confirm the news, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, the public health officer for Riverside County, where the festival is held annually, made an announcement on Twitter over the weekend.
“Due to the pandemic, Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser today (Jan. 29) signed a public health order canceling Coachella Valley Music and Arts, Stagecoach Country Music festivals planned for April 2021. We look forward to when the events may return,” reads a tweet from Kaiser’s Twitter account.
The festival had originally been scheduled to run in April 2020, with a lineup that included Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean. Due to the pandemic, the festival was initially postponed until October, and then again until April 2021.
Coachella was last held in 2019, with a lineup that included Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande.
