As America, of all places, gears up to return to full-capacity concerts because their country has administered a successful vaccination rollout, Foo Fighters have been announced as the first band to play Madison Square Garden at its full capacity since March last year.
The concert, going ahead on Sunday, 20th June, will be free of restrictions like mask-wearing, social distancing and obviously capacity restrictions. However, every attendee will have to be fully vaccinated, and will be required to show proof of vaccination before entering the venue.
“We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year,” the band wrote on Twitter.
“And MSG is going to feel that HARD. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together.”
We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year. And @TheGarden is going to feel that HARD. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together to 26 years of Foos.

This will be the band’s first show at the historic venue in three years, after playing two sold out nights in July of 2018. Later this year, the band will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside Jay-Z, Tina Turner and more.
