Chris Brown Cleared Of Criminal Charges Over Alleged Battery Case

Content warning: This post discusses allegations of domestic violence and assault

Chris Brown will not face charges over an alleged case of battery that occurred earlier this year, according to reports.

Brown has been under investigation (again) since June, when a woman alleged that the 32-year-old “smacked the back of her head so hard her weave came off”.

As reported by TMZpolice were called to Brown’s home after the alleged incident in June, where no visible injuries could be observed on the victim.

No arrests were made at the time, but an investigation was launched later that month, with the victim alleging Brown had assaulted her during an argument.

According to Rolling Stone, the case has now been rejected, with the  Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office sighting “insufficient evidence” to lay charges in a statement to the magazine.

No further comment was made on the matter.

The ‘Go Crazy’ singer shocked the world in 2009 with his horrific assault of then-girlfriend Rihannawhich saw him sentenced to five-year probation and 180 days of community service.

In 2017 Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche Tran was awarded a restraining order against Brown after he allegedly “told a few people that he was going to kill me” and said that he was going to “take me out” and “shoot me.”

Brown was also the subject of a lawsuit in 2018 when a woman going by the alias of Jane Doe alleged she was raped by another guest at a party hosted by Brown in 2017.

She filed the following year, with a dismissal occurring in 2020 after Brown settled out of court.
