This Wednesday, 10th November, close to 200 NSW clubs will be handing over free schooners to fully vaccinated punters.
Christened “Together Ale”, the free schooners were brewed especially for the occasion by Marrickville craft brewer Batch Brewing Co in collaboration with Lion’s Malt Shovel Brewers.
The free beer initiative, i.e. Your Local Club Freedom Day, is the brainchild of NSW Clubs CEO, Josh Landis, and co-founder of Batch Brewing Co, Andrew Fineran, as Pedestrian reports.
“We wanted to make sure that we never have to endure another COVID-19 lockdown again,” said Landis. “To do that, we needed everyone to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated – and we figured offering people a free beer at their local club was a great incentive!”
You can find the full list of participating clubs here, which includes inner city locations Marrickville Golf Club, City Tattersalls Club, Club York and Petersham RSL Club, as well as clubs in Wagga Wagga, Yamba, Gosford, Newcastle, Dubbo, Penrith, Port Macquarie and Broken Hill.
Each punter is permitted to enjoy one free Together Ale, while stocks last. You can register in advance via the Your Local Club Freedom Day website, or simply scan the QR code at the venue.
“To have hit our state’s vaccination targets so quickly is fantastic and we’re excited to reward those who got the jab with an ice-cold schooner of Together Ale,” Landis said.
