Noodles Confirms The Offspring Will Record New Album In 2014

The Offspring‘s guitarist Noodles has confirmed that the punk rock stalwarts will be heading back into the studio to record a new album next year, after the quartet finish up their current world tour promoting latest album Days Go By.

In Belarus for the first time, the Self Esteem guitarist gave a 30-minute interview with Belarusian news site Tut.By, saying that the band will be working on new material when the tour wraps up and hope to hit the studio in 2014.

There’s also plenty of lost in translation humour thoughout the interview – skip straight to 8:35 if you want to hear the translator ask Noodles if he’s embarrassed by current Offspring fans being the grandchildren of their fans in the ’90s. Belarusian burn!

Earlier this year, The Offspring revealed that they’d been dropped by Columbia Records, their label since 1996 and suggested they might release album number 10 independently, so without further news of any signing this looks like confirmation that The Offspring are indeed content with being free agents.

The band have also spoken about going on a tour in 2014 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic album Smash – whether those plans have now been put to bed remains to be seen.
