Petition Starts Aimed At Getting The Offspring Signed To Fat Wreck Chords

Having very recently parted ways with Columbia Records, The Offspring are sure to be hot property at the moment, and a petition has popped up aimed at convincing NOFX’s Fat Mike to add the band to his Fat Wreck Chords roster.

Chances are they don’t need much help to get another label on board but a highly-proactive fan of The Offspring, Anthony Hudson, has started the online petition, arguing that the deal “would be a remarkable transition for the punk scene of today”. No doubt, it’s hard to imagine Fat Mike letting The Offspring release a bad album.

There has been talk of The Offspring continuing independently but as the copy points out, “It looks like Dexter Holland’s label Nitro Records has become obsolete, with no new artists, no new recordings, nothing.”

The Offspring and NOFX were once upon a time label buddies when the two were on Epitaph, before The Offspring went major. Their latest album Days Go By was the final option remaining on their contract with Columbia.
