Oasis 2014 Reunion: “It Definitely Won’t Happen”, Says Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has confirmed that his former band Oasis won’t be reuniting in 2014 to mark the 20th Anniversary of their legendary debut album, Definitely Maybe. When asked during an interview if a reunion tour was a possibility, Gallagher shot back simply “No”.

The seminal BritPop band broke up on 28th August, 2009 after a final falling out, minutes before the band were due on stage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. The band’s singer and current frontman of Beady Eye, Liam Gallagher, told the NME in June that the band had “unfinished business” and suggested that it was possible the two brothers might “bury the hatchet for a quick lap of honour” to celebrate the anniversary.

But Noel has confirmed, in an interview with the UK’s talkSPORT radio show on Thursday, that no Definitely Maybe reunion tour is on the horizon. When asked whether it was a possibility, Gallagher said simply that “it definitely won’t happen”.

Gallagher has said in the past that there would be an Oasis reunion if he “felt like it” and that it was ultimately his decision on whether or not the band would ever again take the stage as a unit. In the meantime, fans are anticipating what will come of Galalgher’s collaboration with former rival Damon Albarn.
