Aussie comedy group Aunty Donna have announced a new deal with Netflix that will see them release their debut television series – titled Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun – on the streaming platform come Wednesday, 11th November.
The new six-part series sees the trio – Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane – team up with executive producer Ed Helms, he of The Hangover and The Office fame, as well as Scott Aukerman of Comedy Bang Bang. Aunty Donna and co created it late last year in America, before the “world went to fuck”, as Kelly explains.
The series is described as “an absurdist adventure through their everyday lives” and will feature cameo appearances from the likes of “Weird Al” Yankovic, Randy Feltface, and Helms himself, among others.
The news arrives alongside a trailer that’s about as chaotic as you might expect, along with some footage of the trio discussing the show. Check that out below.
If you’re uninitiated, Aunty Donna have been kicking since 2011, crafting some of the most joyously absurdist comedy this country has produced. They released their debut studio album – The Album – back in 2018, going on to score an ARIA Award nomination for Best Comedy Release.
