It seems as if Director Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd have indeed called the right person as Bill Murry has hinted at the possibility of a third Ghostbusters. The cultural icon that is the Ghostbusters franchise have been pushing Murry to agree to make the series a trilogy and it seems like they have made some progress.
According to MTV Murry has said in a recent interview that a return of his character Dr. Peter Venkman is in fact a “possibility”.
Murry, who is now 61 years of age, has apparently turned down a previous script from the writers Ramis and Aykroyd. It is also reported that female lead Sigourney Weaver has said that she would not agree to a return unless Murry agrees first. It is unclear how the third film will actually be made taking into consideration the age of all actors, yet it could be a bit of a money grab attempt if the film is somewhat cheesy.
