PREMIERE: Listen To ‘Sad Rich Girls’ From Melbourne Indie Pop Artist SANNIA

‘Sad Rich Girls’ is the new single from Melbourne indie pop artist SANNIA. Music Feeds is premiering the track one day ahead of its official release.

‘Sad Rich Girls’ follows SANNIA’s previous 2021 single, ‘Love You Like’, which won the endorsement of Triple J. ‘Sad Rich Girls’ is a crisp pop song with a score to settle. SANNIA’s vocal melodies are reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, while the track’s dynamic modulations recall the work of King Princess and G Flip.

“As such a strong feminist, I’m the most nervous I’ve ever been to release a song,” said SANNIA regarding ‘Sad Rich Girls’. “I’m a firm believer that women have a duty to lift other women up, but I’ve had this recurring lived experience that there’s always one girl determined to win some sort of contest – pitting girls against each other – and I think it hinders the cause of women’s true equality.

“The sooner we stop bitching about what other women say and do and wear the better. Maybe then we can devote our energy towards something more important like fundamental rights for all or climate change.”

Holy Holy’s Oscar Dawson mixed and produced the track, with SANNIA co-producing. Take a listen below.
