Melbourne indie rockers Sienna Wild are premiering their new single ‘You Wouldn’t Know’ via Music Feeds today. It’s one of those tracks you just know will go off live from the very first listen.
It’s got the upbeat, whirring guitars and soaring vocals of a rock hit but it’s so dancey too. Vocalist and bass guitarist Louis Goutos says the track came about after he challenged himself to write from a third party perspective in a break up.
“Up to that point, our writing had been about power within a relationship, whether it be during good times or bad. This time, I wanted to write a song about an outsider who becomes involved in a break up, as opposed to the two protagonists telling the story.
“It is essentially about a girl telling her boyfriend’s best friend she’s going to leave her man, but the boyfriend is too oblivious to realise. Hence, he ‘wouldn’t know’, but the friend does!”
They’ve given us a special lyric video to accompany the premiere too.
To celebrate the release of ‘You Wouldn’t Know’, Sienna Wild will be taking the new single around on tour. They’ll be hitting up Sydney’s Frankie’s Pizza, Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor, Ric’s in Brisbane, and the Grace Darling Basement in Melbourne, for a final hometown show.
