One of Aussies most loved troubadours Ziggy Alberts has a surprise for his fans in the form of a live, five-track, tour retrospective.
Recorded across his recent world tour, A Postcard From An Australian Summer is a collection of live renditions of tracks from shows across Australia, NZ, the UK, Europe, North & South America and South Africa.
The EP features tracks ‘Yu’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Gone’ and live favourite ‘Love Me Now’, as well as a heartfelt address to fans ‘Interlude’.
“A Postcard From An Australian Summer is a celebration,” Alberts says of the collection of live recordings. “We share something pretty special, me and you; I think we do a pretty great job at closing the gap between the crowd and stage.”
Starting his musical career as a busker, Alberts’ identity as a musician is skewed towards his powerful live shows, and he performs with the energy of someone who takes nothing for granted.
“It’s hard to describe these moments we have at my live shows: I might be biased, but I think its a really unique experience – so I made this postcard to celebrate just that.
“If you haven’t come to a live show before, and are listening to this, its a nice attempt at describing how much fun we have together. You’d be more than welcome to join us, anytime.”
You can experience the magic of a Ziggy Alberts live show this year when he hits the road again in November and December. Check out dates and details below, but first stream the the EP in full here.
