4 Aussie Acts Nominated For Golden God Awards

The 2015 nominations for Metal Hammer‘s Golden God Awards have been announced and amongst the names are four standout Australian acts, who will be flying the flag for Aussie heavy music at the London award ceremony.

Australia’s own King Parrot, The Amity Affliction, Parkway Drive and Northlane have each scored a nomination spread across various Golden Gods categories. The winners will be decided by fan votes. So you know what to do, guys.

Melbourne thrash metal royalty, King Parrot, are up for Best New Band. They’ll be going head-to-head with Splendour 2015 act Marmozets, Soundwave shoe-ins We Are Harlot and Beartooth, and Michigan metal lords King 810.

The Amity Affliction are named as one of the Breakthrough nominees, squaring up against In This Moment, Babymetal, Bury Tomorrow and Halestorm.

Byron Bay’s Parkway Drive are up for the prestigious Best Live Act, and will face off against some mega fellow nominees like Meshuggah, Of Mice & Men, Killer Be Killed and Devin Townsend. What a category.

Northlane seem to have impressed with their fresh material and new frontman, nabbing themselves a nomination in the Best Video category for their Rot clip. Their competition includes videos by Evil Scarecrow, Body Count, Suicide Silence and Motionless In White.

The awards will take place at The O2 in London on Monday 15th June 2015. Public voting is open from now until Wednesday 20th May and by voting you’ll also be in with a chance to win tickets to the ceremony.

The award show host and performing bands are expected to be announced soon. See all the 2015 Golden Gods nominees below.
