A documentary film based on the life of the late Chris Cornell, Audioslave and Soundgarden’s frontman is on the way, according to Variety.
The new doco is being produced by Cornell’s widow, Vicky and Brad Pitt and directed by Peter Berg of Film 45, an entertainment production company.
Film 45 is dedicated to ‘non-scripted entertainment’ and branded content. Berg is currently directing an upcoming Rihanna documentary.
While the documentary has been confirmed there’s no word on exactly what will be covered, what it will be called, or when the release date will be.
Cornell won a Grammy last week for his track ‘When Bad Does Good’ in the Best Rock Performance category.
Cornell’s children, Christopher and Toni accepted the award with Christopher saying of his father, “He was a rock icon, the godfather of grunge, and the creator of a movement whose contribution to music history made a lasting impact across genres and generations.”
A tribute concert was held in Cornell’s memory earlier this year in Los Angeles.
The concert featured performances from Metallica, Fiona Apple, and Dave Grohl, to name a few as well as an appearance from Brad Pitt.
