Actor Tim Robbins Brings His Folk-Rock To Australia

Acclaimed actor Tim Robbins will be putting on his musician’s hat in Australia this April with his band the Rogues Gallery Band, with an appearance at Bluesfest in Byron Bay as well as shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Robbins, star of films such as Bull Durham, The Player and Mystic River, released his band’s debut album in 2010 and aims towards a folk-rock kind of sound in the vein of Dylan (also at Bluesfest), Springsteen and Steve Earle. The Rogues Gallery Band was put together by famed producer Hall Willner, with an all-star cast of Kate St John, Leo Abrahams, David Coulter, Roger Eno, Rory MacFarlane, Andrew Newmark and Dudley Philips.

The Oscar-winning actor split with long-term partner Susan Sarandon in 2009 and has candidly admitted to a midlife crisis in the past year. Not that his attempts to become a rock star are more evidence of that, oh no.

Robbins actually comes from a musical background, with his father once being a member of early 60s folk group The Highwaymen.

The other Australian dates are:

Thu Apr 28, The Basement, Sydney, NSW
Fri Apr 29, The East Brunswick Club, VIC
