Adele Questions Authenticity of Australian Olympic Breakdancer’s Performance

Adele has raised eyebrows by questioning the authenticity of Australian Olympic breakdance competitor Rachael Gunn, also known as Raygun, following her performance at the 2024 Paris Games. The 36-year-old athlete’s routine sparked ridicule when she received zero points from the judges, leaving sports fans and commentators stunned.

During a headline show in Munich, Adele paused to discuss the viral moment, expressing her disbelief at the event. “Did anyone see the breakdancing lady? Now I didn’t even know breakdancing was an Olympic sport these days. That is f***ing fantastic. I really really do,” Adele remarked, drawing laughter from the audience.

The “Rolling In The Deep” singer, also 36, questioned whether Raygun’s performance was a joke, saying, “I can’t work out if it was a joke, but either way, it has made me very very happy, and me and my friends have been s***ing ourselves laughing for nearly 24 hours.”

Adele encouraged her audience to watch the performance, adding, “If you haven’t seen it, please leave the show and google it because it is LOLZ. It is so f***ing funny and is my favorite thing that has happened in the Olympics this whole whole time.”

Raygun defended her performance, explaining that her goal was to showcase creativity and artistry on the international stage. “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative,” she stated. “I was always the underdog and wanted to make my mark in a different way.”

Raygun’s performance and Adele’s comments have since become a talking point, highlighting the diverse expressions and interpretations of breakdancing in its Olympic debut.
