aleksiah Releases New EP ‘Cry About It’: “A Big Stepping Stone For Me”

aleksiah has officially released her second EP, entitled Cry About It. The five-track follow-up to 2024’s Who Are You When You’re Not Performing? was written by the Adelaide-based singer-songwriter in collaboration with several producers: Melbourne duo Cry Club, Chris Collins, Beso Palma and Konstantin Kersting. In a statement shared to her social media, aleksiah described the writing, recording and subsequent release of the Cry About It EP as “a bridge between two worlds”.

“[This EP] was a big catalyst in helping me discover what kind of music I love making, and helping me not be so self-conscious about problems I really struggle with,” she wrote. “It was a big stepping stone for me, musically and personally. It also has one of the first songs I ever wrote as Aleksiah on it, ‘Cold’. [It’s] so fun to look back on those lyrics and remember who I wrote it about. Thank you so, so much for giving this EP the love you have, especially ‘Clothes Off’ and ‘The Hit’. You have singlehandedly helped shaped all of my music going forward, and I hope you know that.”

Yesterday (July 10th) saw aleksiah and her band kick off the Cry About It national tour, which will see her launch the EP alongside support act Chloe Parche across the rest of the month before concluding with a hometown show in Adelaide next month. In November, she will head to the UK to play a run of shows with Fickle Friends. The following month, in December, she will open for Kelsea Ballerini on her Australian arena tour, alongside American singer-songwriter Carter Faith.
