All Tomorrow’s Parties To Do “More Things In Australia?”

If you had a blast at All Tomorrow’s PartiesI’ll Be Your Mirror event in Melbourne last weekend – this news will be music to your ears.

According to Billboard, the festival’s co-founder Barry Hogan is keen to present “more things in Australia” under the ATP banner. This is mainly because the event has struggled to capture an audience in America, thus sparking Hogan’s interest to take the brand to other musical hotspots around the globe.

“The market is quite soft [in America] at the moment,” Hogan noted. “We’re thinking we might just leave America for a while and wait for things to get a little better returning there … There are so many other exciting places in the world to do things than in NYC. I’d rather look at South America and Europe, to be honest. Or more things in Australia.”

All Tomorrow’s Parties’I’ll Be Your Mirror event, which was co-curated by The Drones and headlined by My Bloody Valentine, sold out at its Altona Park venue earlier this month.

It was the first local instalment of All Tomorrow’s Parties to be staged since 2009 – following poor ticket sales that year for events at Mount Buller in Victoria, Cockatoo Island in Sydney and the Riverstage in Brisbane.
