Allday Announces New Album ‘Drinking With My Smoking Friends’

Allday has announced details around his fourth studio album today, Drinking With My Smoking Friends. In addition, he’s dropped a new single, ‘Void’, and announced a national tour in support of the record.

‘Void’ marks the second single we’ve heard from Drinking With My Smoking Friends thus far, following the release of lead single ‘After All This Time’ late last year.

Drinking With My Smoking Friends is about escaping something and finding something new, whether that’s a place, a relationship or something else,” Allday – real name Tom Gaynor – said in a press statement.

He goes on to explain how working with Japanese Wallpaper on 2017’s ‘In Motion’ influenced him to explore other sonic avenues.

“I came back to Australia from LA and I was working out what comes next,” he said.

“My music has always been somewhat varied: there’s different types of rap, really pop songs, house-y stuff. There was an element, with songs like (‘In Motion’), where the tough guy facade came down. So then I thought, ‘Why am I still holding on to that?’”

Allday’s forthcoming tour, set for this August, will kick off in Perth, before hitting Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, wrapping up in Brisbane.

Drinking With My Smoking Friends is due out Friday, 28th May.
