UK indie rockers Alt-J have announced they’ll return to Australia later this year for a tour behind fourth studio album The Dream, which is set to arrive tomorrow (11th February).
The trio will kick off the run of Australian shows at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Tuesday, 20th September, continuing along to arena stages in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide before wrapping up in Perth.
“We are bringing The Dream Down Under,” the band said in a statement. “It’s been too long since we visited beautiful Australia and New Zealand. See you there in September 2022. Let’s have it.” It has indeed been a minute between drinks – Alt-J last toured Australia in late 2017 in support of third studio album Relaxer.
Back in September of last year, the band returned with their first new single in four years, ‘U&ME’, alongside details of The Dream – the track went on to come in at #95 on this year’s Hottest 100. Since then, they’ve released three more singles – ‘Get Better’ in November, last month’s ‘Hard Drive Gold’ and ‘The Actor’ earlier this week.
See Alt-J’s The Dream Australian tour dates below. General tickets are on sale from midday next Friday, 18th February, with a Frontier Touring members pre-sale kicking off a few days earlier at midday on Tuesday, 15th February.
