Anderson .Paak Gets New Tattoo Warning Against Posthumous Releases

Anderson .Paak does not want any of his leftover music released after he leaves this mortal coil. To make it official, he’s tattooed this request on his forearm.

Anderson .Paak is at the peak of his powers. The 35-year-old Californian singer, rapper, producer and multi-instrumentalist is about to release an album with Bruno Mars under the name Silk Sonic. But he wants to make it clear that, whenever he departs this life, people should keep their filthy hands away from his unreleased music.

.Paak’s new and truly hilarious tattoo reads, “When I’m gone please don’t release any posthumous albums or songs with my name attached. Those were just demoes and never intended to be heard by the public.”

In recent months, we’ve received post-mortem albums from the likes of DMX, Pop Smoke and Prince, with mixed results. .Paak’s tattoo might indeed be genuine, but it also serves a satirical purpose, implying that as soon as someone passes, down come the vultures to exploit the public’s newfound interest in the recently-departed.

.Paak shared a pic of his new ink on his Instagram stories. It’s since been removed, but the fact it sits below a tattoo of Animal from The Muppet Show – a drummer’s drummer if ever there was one – is a sign of its authenticity.
