Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf has confirmed a three-date Australian headline tour for June. Shauf was previously announced on the lineup for the Melbourne CBD festival, RISING.
In addition to Shauf’s already-announced show at Melbourne’s Max Watt’s on Monday, 6th June, the Saskatchewan performer will play at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Wednesday, 8th June and Adelaide’s Summertown Studio on Thursday, 9th June.
Shauf’s latest album, Wilds, came out in September 2021. His seventh album overall, Wilds followed Shauf’s breakthrough releases, The Party (2016) and The Neon Skyline (2020). Wilds is a quasi sequel to The Neon Skyline, an album that centred on the events in the titular bar. The Party was also a concept album, examining the goings on and mindsets of a group of people gathered at a house party.
Wilds is a conceptually looser affair, which Pitchfork described as “a bit wilder, more lackadaisical in a sadsack sort of way, its arc less predetermined and its themes emerging more organically.”
Away from his solo project, Shauf fronts the band Foxwarren, along with D.A. Kissick, Avery Kissick and Dallas Bryson. The band’s 2018 self-titled album gave rise to one of Shauf’s most popular songs, ‘Sunset Canyon’.
