Alexisonfire announced their break-up way back in 2011, and toured Australia on their last tour at the end of 2012. But it seems that something is brewing within their camp in 2015, proving you just can’t keep a good band down.
On Twitter, the band’s lead-guitarist Wade McNeil directed fans to Alexisonfire’s new Instagram page and wrote, “Never know what could happen…” alongside, “#AOF2015.” Fellow band-members Dallas Green, George Pettit and Jordan Hastings also tweeted a picture of the Instagram.
The Instagram features Alexisonfire’s trademark skull-in-a-heart logo with a date, 03/09/15. That, of course, is today’s date meaning that an announcement is imminent. It’s yet to clock over into Monday in the US yet so it’s likely that the news will surface here tonight or tomorrow morning. Stay tuned.
Alexisonfire haven’t performed together since their 2012 farewell tour, with the band’s members going on to enjoy success in other projects. Green has had huge success as City And Colour while McNeil has continued on as the lead-singer of Gallows.
Whether this is a reunion, a reissue, new music or something else entirely, we just don’t know. But we’re sure all will be revealed soon.
