Are Rage Against The Machine Headlining Splendour In The Grass Next Year?

Since Rage Against the Machine announced their much-anticipated reunion earlier this month, the question on Aussie fans’ lips has been “Okay, but when are they coming here?”

Well, if a supposedly leaked tour poster is to be believed, the answer appears to be next July.

As Tone Deaf reports, a post has been circulating which lists a number of 2020 tour stops for the lauded group. Among them are a pair of Australian dates – Byron Bay on July 18th and Melbourne on July 23rd.

Splendour in the Grass has been held annually in late July since its inception, so the assertion that the band could be headlining the iconic festival seems very plausible. The same poster also says the band will play the 2020 Glastonbury Festival.

Obviously we can’t confirm the legitimacy of the “since-deleted” post, but numerous Twitter users have been sharing the poster online. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.

UPDATE 25/11/19, 2.39pm: Music Feeds has been contacted by a notorious Australian-based fake poster culprit who has alleged that they are behind the faked RATM viral post.

“This has been the biggest one so far,” they explained in a statement to Music Feeds. “I felt as though I had to do it after seeing the announcement of the US reunion. The poster isn’t all that glamorous, but photoshopping it to look like an Instagram post really sold it and has made it blow up.”

“Why I did it? Just because I want it to happen so damn much, it’s Splendour’s 20th anniversary, if they haven’t sent a letter of offer to the RAGE camp then they are crazy! I think it’s reasonable to assume the guys will play some big festivals around the world if they do plan on doing a full reunion.”

More on this as it develops.
