Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin will marry longtime friend William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson later this year.
The 69-year-old diva and Wilkerson became engaged over the holiday break – with Franklin telling the Associated Press the couple are planning a wedding on Miami Beach, followed by a reception on a private yacht. She also added that she is considering ordering a custom dress from one of three prominent designers: Valentino, Donna Karan or Vera Wang.
Frankilin, who has married twice before, has fully recovered from some recent health concerns. A doctor recently told her that surgery she underwent a year ago could add 15 to 20 years to her life.
Nice to see Aretha receiving some R-E-S-P-E-C-T from the opposite sex.
