ARIA have today announced they’ve partnered with YouTube Music to provide a global live stream of the ARIA Awards on Wednesday, 27th November 2019. The Awards, to be held in Sydney, will be streamed for a global audience for the first time ever on YouTube.
To coincide, ARIA have posted a veritable treasure trove of classic moments and performances from across the Awards’ history to YouTube, from INXS belting out ‘Searching’ at the 1996 Awards to Farnesy singing ‘You’re the Voice’ in 2003 and The Veronicas bloody slaying with ‘Untouched’ back in 2008.
Over the next month, hundreds more highlights and performances will be released to the Aria YouTube channel and through the YouTube Music app.
This year’s ARIA Awards for Best Video and Song of the Year will be presented by YouTube Music – both of which are chosen by the public, with fans getting to vote for their favourites.
“ARIA is very excited to enter into this partnership with YouTube Music,” said ARIA Chief Executive Dan Rosen.
“It provides an incredibly powerful platform to showcase Australian music here and around the world. YouTube has a unique ability to be both the home for our historical content, and the engine for our international growth. I cannot wait to celebrate the last year in Australian music at the 2019 ARIA Awards in partnership with YouTube Music.”
