Acclaimed Melbourne indie rockers Augie March have announced they have finished their long awaited fifth studio album and are closing out a five year hiatus with the release of Havens Dumb this October 3rd. In celebration, the band have unveiled another new song from the forthcoming record, Definitive History.
According to the band, they collectively went “on hiatus” in 2009 when frontman Glenn Richards moved from Melbourne to Hobart with the aim of developing a working studio. In that time, communication amongst Glenn, Adam, Edmondo, Dave and Kiernan “flickered to life” and they began work on a new album to be made “in their own time” and “under their own steam.”
Of the thirty-odd tracks developed the list was refined and following some mixing from “engineer illuminati” Paul McKercher, the band have now revealed the 14 new tracks that will proudly feature on Havens Dumb.
From tomorrow, Friday 8th August, fans can pre-order the album on vinyl, CD or digital. The vinyl comes with a digital download, the CD comes with a signed lyric print, and the digital comes with an instant download of the new track Definitive History.
In October, Augie March will also make a live return to their Melbourne home with three shows at Howler. See tour details below.
