She’s known for bringing out big names like Mick Jagger, Selena Gomez and Justin Timberlake at her shows, but Taylor Swift has disappointed some of her Aussie fans by not having any special guests at her Sydney performance over the weekend. There might be a very good reason for the lack of on-stage collaborators, though.
Performing at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Saturday, 28th November, Swift went the whole show without bringing any VIP musical guests up on stage, and fans were rightfully confused. Some were actually pretty sad that Swift didn’t add any more peeps to her squad on the night.
Taking to social media, Swifties swiftly voiced their concerns:

Fun show by @taylorswift13 but why do we not get a special guest?! Australia always misses out :'( #1989toursydney

So @taylorswift13 has let Australia down. I'm not joining her on stage tonight. She has made an enemy out of an entire nation #BadBlood

It’s not all bad news though, because according to Shazam Top 20, the real reason why Swift didn’t bring any guests on stage in Sydney is because the show was reportedly filmed as part of a forthcoming tour film…
No special guests at #1989TourSydney
Which makes sense because it's being filmed for a tour dvd and Taylor is the star!
Great gig ??

…and other tweets from around ANZ Stadium and from the television industry appear to back that up.
@taylorswift13 , make sure you'll release 1989 world tour dvd before you take a break… #MTVStars Taylor Swift pic.twitter.com/8g4UUqWy7e

Aside from its lack of special guests, Swift’s Sydney show appears to have gone off without a hitch, scoring largely positive reviews and even some impromptu singing from fans on their way home from the venue. As Sydney Trains says:
A quick shout out to the @TaylorSwift13 fans singing on the train home. You guys sound great! #1989TourSydney

It looks like Swift had quite a bit of fun at the show as well, telling her Sydney Swifties:

Speculation surrounding which celebrities might possibly join Swift on stage at some point in her Aussie tour has included the likes of Aussie model Miranda Kerr and Swift’s BFF Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, who are both currently touring down under.

Celebs Taylor Swift Might Bring Out On Stage in Australia
-
Ed Sheeran
Ok, so this one HAS to happen. Old mate ginge, Ed Sheeran is in the fricken' country at the same time and the two are the bestiest besties of all time. It's a done deal. -
Miranda Kerr
A recent ~news~ story supposedly has supermodel Miranda Kerr and Tay in close proximity, with Swift apparently giving her dating advice (because of course). Australian + Model + "Friend of Swift". You do the maths. -
Elton John
Another pom in the country this December is none other than the legendary Elton John. This one's a no-brainer as the two are tight and this would make worldwide headlines like no other previous guest (take THAT Lisa Kudrow). -
Ruby Rose
Recently spotted hanging with Swity, our Ruby Rose's US DJ tour conveniently finishes at the end of next month, freeing her up for a visit home (and on-stage) this December -
Chet Faker
Although the two have never really formally met, the dude is one of the biggest Aussie musicians in the world at the moment, with some stellar appearences in the States at festivals and on late-night TV. Oh, and look, his local tour finishes in November, meaning there's all likelihood Chetty boy will still be in town... -
Sam Smith
Sam Smith conveniently had to reschedule his Australia tour, after a bout of vocal chord damage, to this December and the two are solid BFFs, having attended her super kewl Xmas party last year. Chances: HIGH. -
Vance Joy
Now before you say "UH DUH DICKHEAD", yes we know Vancey pants is supporting Tay on the Australian tour, but as it's his home town he should get a bit more limelight then on US stages. Methinks a 'Riptide' duet during Taylor's set is very likely. -
Cody Simpson
Hat aficionado and teen heart-throb the world over, Cody Simpson has some indirect connections to Swift, having dated some of her friends or something (IDK I don't read New Weekly) and might be heading home around the end of the year with his US tour wrapping up conveniently before December. -
Calvin Harris
Swift's current manfriend Calvin Harris has supposedly been at several of her US shows but is yet to appear on stage. Calvin's tour diary is free at the end of the year and would probs enjoy a summer vacay with Tay, right? Right. Chances of him getting on stage though may be slim, but you never know. (Plz be shirtless Calvy bb). -
Hugh Jackman
CAN YOU IMAGINE WOLVERINE AND TAYLOR SWIFT ON STAGE TOGETHER? Superstar Hugh Jackman's local Broadway show tour finishes the 1st of December. Oh, yeah. This is happening. -
John Farnham
Maybe this is a bit of a longshot BUT Farnsy is on tour here in December and bringing out this god damn Aussie legend would give Swift some mad local brownie points. A 'You're The Voice' duet would bring the motherfuckin house down. (Also there was that one time he sung it with Coldplay in Australia so...) -
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
Here's a nice double-banger for ya. Although Tay's mostly discarded her country girl image, she still plays a lot of her more bumpkin material on stage. Known buddies with Keith (whose tour diary is conveniently free this December) Swifty could very well bring him out with wife Nicole Kidman for good measure.
