The Avengers‘ Hawkeye has often been given a hard time for possessing the least superpowers of all the characters, but if anything is going to convince otherwise it’s a heartfelt song to the tune of Ed Sheeran‘s Thinking Out Loud.
Captain America, Thor and Hulk overshadow Hawkeye in The Avengers films with strength and super-human ability but it’s doubtful that they’d be able to perform a tender ballad quite like Hawkeye can.
Actor Jeremy Renner took to the piano on Jimmy Fallon to prove Hawkeye’s worth as a superhero, parodying Ed Sheeran mega-hit.
“Promise I can do so much more than just archery,” Renner sang dressed as Hawkeye with a touching montage rolling behind him.
Among those things he can do are opening a pickle-jar, getting to second-base on a Tinder date and scoring 70 in bowling after six beers. He can do all these things because, as he sings, “I’m friggen Hawkeye”.
Renner currently stars as Hawkeye in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, in cinemas now sans musical numbers.
