Azealia Banks Says Splendour Was “A Waste Of My Fucking Time”

Azealia Banks seems to be on some form of mission to start a feud with the entire Commonwealth of Australia.

After trashing Aussie audiences as terrible, violent and belligerent cowards just days after performing at Splendour In The Grass 2015, the walking controversy magnet is once again on the diss, now claiming that the beloved Australian music festival itself was a “waste of her fucking time”.

The notoriously unchill singer seems to be firing shade bullets with the reckless abandon of a drunken baby who somehow managed to get its hands on an AK-47. When one adoring fan innocently suggested via Twitter that Zee should “be grateful to be blessed with the chance to come to Australia for her fans”, the singer returned fire with “bitch, I have money. I can go to Oz whenever the fuck I want. Try again.”

The Ice Princess then went on the full offensive, launching an all-out assault on Splendour, after she apparently took issue with her write-up in the festival’s programme. She tweeted:

“I saw that shitty blurb u wrote about me in the artist book. It was obviously written by some divisive white person.

“All the things you could’ve written about me you chose that…” she continued. “I don’t think I want to work with you all anymore.

“Truly a waste of my fucking time. I don’t need to travel 24hrs to be disrespected.”

Among others in the viewfinder of her shade rifle was Aussie media personality Nic Kelly, who called out the singer for marginalising her Australian fan base. This was one of her responses: “Ugh. Fucking twinks. U make me sick.”

And finally, Brisbane radio DJ Paul Brown, who was at the centre of the furore, also had a few choice words slung his way: “This is how Australian men turn up dead. Keep fucking around bitch…”

It’s all fun and games until someone starts issuing homophobic slurs and death threats.

As well as her Splendour In The Grass slot, Azealia Banks also performed two festival sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne last week. Catch photos from the Sydney sideshow below, and a full review right here.
