There’s a build of momentum happening in the Ball Park Music camp, with the Brisbane outfit not only teasing fans with with a new single, She Only Loves Me When I’m There, but announcing an extensive national album tour and the release date for their third record, Puddinghead.
Puddinghead, slated for release on Friday, 4th April via Stop Start and Inertia, is the follow-up to 2012’s Museum and was the first Ball Park Music album to be recorded during a period of relative calm for the band, in contrast to the first two, recorded amid hectic touring schedules.
The band’s third album in 24 months was self-produced in a dirt-cheap rental shack in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and recorded amid general shack maintenance such as cleaning mud from the doorway, cleaving open the broken door, and of course, removing rotten food and dead insects.
BPM’s massive 2014 album tour kicks off with a performance at the Mountain Sounds Festival in Kariong, NSW. The band will then begin traversing the East Coast, before shows in Hobart, Darwin, and Perth. Readers can check out the first taste of She Only Loves Me When I’m There, below.
