Basement Jaxx Announce 2019 Australian Tour, Featuring Full Orchestra

English dance legends Basement Jaxx have announced their return to Australia, and they’re bringing a full orchestra and team of singers with them.

The duo of Felix Buxton & Simon Ratcliffe will reimagine some of their biggest tracks (Think ‘Where’s Your Head At’, ‘Do Your Thing’, etc.) in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in April 2019, backed by Sydney’s The Metropolitan Orchestra.

The pair will be touring off the back of their latest album Junto and their 2011 collaborative album Basement Jaxx vs. Metropole Orkest, and will unveil “a new and updated version of the project” during their Australian run, organisers say.

The show will feature singers Vula & Sharlene Hector on vocals, as well as “specially commissioned new work and a few surprises along the way”.

Basement Jaxx last performed in Australia in 2017, when they were in the country for the Electric Gardens festival.
