This is absolutely massive. A bunch of everyone’s favourite Aussie musos have been working on a giant collaborative album called VAST, with an amazing story behind it.
Bernard Fanning, Paul Dempsey, Oh Mercy, Glenn Richards of Augie March, Kav Temperley of Eskimo Joe and loads others spent a week with a musical instrument maker in the Pilbara region of WA and the result is VAST.
All funds from the sales of VAST, available Friday, 16th November, are actually going to a special fund that “will be used for the sole purpose of promoting, encouraging and advancing artistic pursuits in the Pilbara region.”
On top of that, a documentary of how the monumental album was made is being released, and you can view the trailer here.
The album’s lead single is titled ‘The Sky’s Gone Missing’ by the one and only Paul Dempsey, and you can listen to it below.
