Melbourne songwriter Fergus Miller, who operates under the moniker Bored Nothing, has announced he will be ending the BN project in the new year, but not before a pair of final blowout shows.
“I’m very glad to announce that this is the end of Bored Nothing. It’s been fun. we’ve drank a lot of beer, been banned from a prominent melbourne venue, and had shows where people didn’t show up, even some of the band-members,” wrote Fergus Miller on the Bored Nothing Facebook page.
“Frankly, i’m tired, i’m bored with this music, and i’m sick of playing it; however that doesn’t mean we’re not going out with a bang,” he added.
The Melbourne musician will use the shows originally dedicated to launching the latest Bored Nothing full length Some Songs, the follow-up to 2012’s self-titled debut, as his final farewell shows. These will take place in Sydney at the Lansdowne Hotel on Friday, 9th January 2015 and at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Saturday, 10th January 2015.
Bored Nothing will be joined by some special guests for the farewell shows as well as some added band members.”There will definitely be singalongs,” he said. Following the Melbourne show Miller says he will be selling his personal music equipment at the merchandise stand, including the electric guitar, pedals and recoding equipment used to make both albums.
“I’ll never stop making music, or sharing it in one way or another, but this thing feels like it’s run it’s course right now,” he concluded. Read Fergus Miller’s full post and see the farewell show details below.
