Sydney quintet Boy & Bear will hit the city’s State Theatre on Saturday, 12th February 2022 for a tenth anniversary celebration.
In early August, Boy & Bear celebrated the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Moonfire. The record saw Boy & Bear become one of the biggest indie bands in Australia and sent them off on a mega run of overseas touring.
The record included the singles ‘Feeding Line’ and ‘Part Time Believer’. The former has gained 2x ARIA Platinum certification, an honour shared by the album itself.
Moonfire was produced by Joe Chiccarelli (Spoon, The Strokes) and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. “The making of Moonfire was one of the more influential experiences of our career so far”, said singer Dave Hosking.
Boy & Bear’s latest record, Suck on Light, came out in September 2019. It was the band’s first record in four years, an interval during which Hoskins battled Chronic Dysbiosis, a debilitating condition that causes weakness, fatigue and confusion.
Boy & Bear will perform Moonfire in full for the very first time at the anniversary show, as well as premiering music from their yet-to-be-released fifth album. Tickets are on sale this Friday, 3rd September at 8.00am (AEST).
