Brendon Urie Has Shared A Ferocious New Metal Song During A Livestream

Panic! At the Disco frontman Brendon Urie has shared a heavy new track during a Twitch livestream fundraiser for Urie’s High Hopes Foundation.

Urie shared the song as a reward after the fundraiser hit the $75,000 mark.

It’s not the first time Urie has used Twitch to share music on the heavier side. Back in July, he shared a clip of a new song via the platform that was notably more aggressive than the pop-inflected leanings Urie has taken his P!ATD project over the past couple of years.

Late last year, Urie expressed his desire to release a metal project, telling Rock SoundI always feel as though I need to be more diverse. Yes, all of the Panic! albums do sound different and have their own vibe, their own aesthetic and imagery, but I still feel like I can do more. Even from song to song within one album I feel like things could change even more drastically, and maybe that’ll happen as time goes on. I still have so many different things that I want to do, particularly in terms of genres.

“I want to do a metal project in particular. I actually just played something for my band mates recently – we have an old song called ‘The Calendar’ and I made a metal version of it from years back. It’s like 90 seconds long and is really fun. Who knows, I might even put that out on SoundCloud on a whim some time soon!”

Urie did indeed go on to share the metal-tinged version of ‘The Calendar’ later that month.

Hear the new song in a clip taken from the livestream below.
