Briggs, the ultimate multi-hyphenate, is keeping the momentum strong in 2020 with the release of his latest single ‘Extra, Extra’.
‘Extra, Extra’ marks our first taste of Briggs’ forthcoming EP, which will in turn be the first solo body of work we’ve had from the Yorta Yorta rapper since his acclaimed 2014 album Sheplife.
“‘Extra, Extra’ is how I live. No days off. Everything I do is extra – you can check my resume for that,” Briggs said in a press statement.
“A lot of people know me for a lot of different things – but this is back to the fundamentals of who I am as Briggs.”
The song was also produced by longtime friend and collaborator, Trials.
“Trials’ had the beat he put it on and I cooked it up that same day,” Briggs said.
“This is us in our purest form: beat, rap & on to the next one.”
‘Extra, Extra’ is the second track we’ve heard from Briggs this year, following his masterful isolation collaboration with Tim Minchin, titled ‘HouseFyre’.
