Australian blues singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking has just announced the release of his new album Gon’ Boogaloo, due out October 17th, and to celebrate he’s hitting the road with his band on a national tour this October and November.
It’s been six long years since C.W. Stoneking released his critically acclaimed, ARIA Blues and Roots Award winning album Jungle Blues, which saw him perform sellout shows across the UK, Europe and Australia.
Recorded in Victoria’s Castlemaine, the blues mastermind took an old school approach to making his new album and recorded Gon’ Boogaloo live over just two days. “This record, which took me years to come by, was finally recorded live in two days, without any overdub or edits,” he explains. “Using only two microphones into a 2-track Ampex 351 1/4” tape machine out of Capitol Records.”
