Celine Dion Slams Donald Trump for Unauthorized Use Of Hit Single ‘My Heart Will Go On’ At Rally

Celine Dion has publicly criticized Donald Trump for using her hit song “My Heart Will Go On” at a recent campaign rally without her permission. The superstar singer’s management team expressed disapproval after discovering the song was featured at a Montana rally supporting Trump’s political bid.

On Saturday, Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., released a statement on X denouncing the unauthorized use of the song and Dion’s likeness. The statement reads, “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. …And really, THAT song?”

Trump has previously used Dion’s music at political events, but the recent rally featured a video of Dion performing the iconic Titanic song, which could lead to legal repercussions, according to Variety.

This controversy comes shortly after Dion’s triumphant return to the stage, despite her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. Dion made a notable appearance at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, where she performed Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à L’Amour” atop the Eiffel Tower.
