Chappell Roan Seeks Drag Queens For UK and European Tour

Chappell Roan is looking to bring local drag queens on stage as she embarks on her UK and European tour. The “Casual” singer has announced a series of shows in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin and is inviting submissions from drag performers in each city to join her.

In an Instagram post, Chappell shared an open call for drag artists, stating, “We are taking submissions for my EU/UK headline shows!” The application process involves a Google form, where interested performers can apply to be one of three local drag acts selected to open each show with a “high energy” lip-sync routine.

Chappell Roan’s Initiative Is To Drag Queens To Engage With Local Queer Community During Her Tour

Chappell will be performing three nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, and her inclusion of drag queens is part of her effort to engage with the local queer community in each city. She told PEOPLE that she encourages audience members to tip the queens, which helps support the local community and provides a platform for performers who may not have experienced performing in front of large crowds.

Chappell Roan’s innovative approach to involving drag performers has gained her a devoted fanbase, including notable figures like SZA and Chris Martin. SZA recently expressed admiration for Chappell, saying she inspires her to keep making music. Sharing a clip of Chappell performing at Lollapalooza, SZA wrote, “She makes me wanna keep making music and art forever.”

Chris Martin also showed his support by sharing a video of himself signing albums while listening to Chappell’s track “Casual.” With her vibrant performances and community-focused initiatives, Chappell Roan continues to make waves in the music industry.
