Chris Cornell’s Widow Releases Emotional Statement Following Toxicology Results

Chris Cornell‘s wife Vicky has released an emotional public message following the results of her late husband’s toxicology report.

The findings, which were released yesterday, revealed that the legendary Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman had multiple prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death, which Vicky Karayiannis says confirms her prior suggestions that his state of mind would have to have been drastically altered for him to make the decision to take his own life.

“Many of us who know Chris well, noticed that he wasn’t himself during his final hours and that something was very off. We have learned from this report that several substances were found in his system,” she writes.

“After so many years of sobriety, this moment of terrible judgment seems to have completely impaired and altered his state of mind. Something clearly went terribly wrong and my children and I are heartbroken and are devastated that this moment can never be taken back.”

According to a report obtained by TMZ, Cornell had Naloxone, the sedative Butalbital, Ativan, the decongestant Pseudoephedrine and barbiturates in his system at his time of death.

“We very much appreciate all of the love we have received during this extremely difficult time and are dedicated to helping others in preventing this type of tragedy,” Vicky writes.

It comes after she penned a truly heartbreaking open letter to her late husband.

RIP Chris.
