The Church Announce 2017 National Tour Behind Surprise New Album

Aussie rockers The Church have announced a 2017 national tour in support of their surprise new album Man Woman Life Death Infinity, which will be released this Friday.

The tour will see the band perform all around the country between November and December, with tracks from across their career and new cuts from their just-announced new record.

The band’s 26th album is their second with their current lineup — that’s Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes, Tim Powles and Ian Haug — and has been described as the their “water record”.

“I guess water is my element,” says Kilbey.

“I’ve always marvelled at the sea and rivers and rain. It wasn’t conscious at all but on reflection, it definitely is a preoccupation on this record. What that means, I don’t know.

“This is an album we’re really looking forward to exploring live. The way I write lyrics is very stream-of-consciousness. I never question them until we perform live, so I discover them in time as much as the audience.”

The Church’s ‘Man Woman Life Death Infinity Tour’ will see the band joined by former Remy Zero guitarist Jeffrey Cain on keys, guitars and vocals.
