Earlier this month, City and Colour (Dallas Green of Alexisonfire) dropped his first single in four years. Now we have the second single, ‘Strangers’, off of his upcoming album.
‘Astronaut’, released earlier this month was an amazing return for Green but ‘Strangers’ is an even better follow up. It’s lyrically deep, instrumentally minimalistic, and vocally stunning. The sixth City and Colour studio album is yet to be properly announced, but it’s coming in Spring this year — eeek.
“Strangers’ is about how you will never truly know another human being,” says Green in a statement.
“You’ll never really understand what it’s like to be inside someone else’s brain or heart. So, we need to appreciate the differences. If we do, maybe we can live better with one another.”
Both of the tracks released so far have been produced by three-time Grammy winner, Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse) and mastered by Emily Lazar (Coldplay, The Chainsmokers).
Aside from City and Colour, Dallas Green has been busy with Alexisonfire too, his other project. The hardcore band have released their first new singles in nine years this year, ‘Familiar Drugs’ and ‘Complicit’.
