Culture Club must be going for some kind of record, because they’ve just announced plans to return to Australia for their third tour down under in the space of 18 months.
The Karma Chameleons will be bringing the ~Culture shock~ back to our shores in November and December on the coat tails of singer Boy George’s renewed popularity ala his judging gig on your mum’s fave tele show The Voice Australia.
They must be trying to make up for lost time, with their third tour since June last year coming in red hot after a 16-year absence.
The Brit rock veterans, who are apparently working on a new album, will be bringing a special guest along for the ride this time in the form of Thompson Twins’ frontman Tom Bailey, who’ll be performing all of his band’s big hits (including that song ‘Doctor Doctor’, you know the one) in his first trip to Aus since bloody 1985!
Together, they’ll perform eight dates across the nation in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth, with support from band homegrown act Eurogliders in every city except Perth, where UK electro band The Human League will join the bill.
But you may have to set yourself a reminder because tickets don’t go on sale til mid-October.
