Dave Grohl Has Revealed Who He Wants To Play Him In A Foo Fighters Biopic

Everyone wants a Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl biopic, and when Dave Grohl was posed a question on who would play him, he gave an immediate but surprising answer.

He was asked the question by radio station 95.5 KLOS, and promptly gave his unexpected response.

“I’m going for Shelley Duvall. Like, look at Shelley Duvall from The Shining,” he said. “She’s like, ‘Get away from me! Get away from me!’ Like, that’s me. That’s totally me.”

ICYMI, Shelley Duvall’s biggest claim to fame is her role as Wendy Torrance in 1980’s The Shining, opposite Jack Nicholson. You know, this role:

This would be difficult considering Duvall hasn’t acted in almost two decades, but we’d still like to see it anyway.

As for other members of the band, Grohl suggested that Jack Nicholson plays drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“I don’t know,” Hawkins said in response. “Won’t they be dead? I don’t mean that!”

There’s no talks of a Dave Grohl or Foo Fighters biopic any time soon, but it’s good to know the gears are in motion should the opportunity come along.

In the meantime, Grohl has expressed a very keen interest in drumming for AC/DC. So if producing a biopic doesn’t work out, at least he’s got a back up plan.
