David Bowie’s “Completely Bonkers” New Album Will Be Realeased On His 69th Birthday

Legendary rocker David Bowie is preparing to release his 25th album, and it’s apparently set to be his “oddest” yet.

And coming from the man who portrayed both Ziggy Stardust and The Goblin King throughout his musical tenure, that’s probably saying something.

The disc shall be dubbed Blackstar, and London’s The Times has described it as “completely bonkers”, combining German-style electro and jazz influences.

The 45-minute album will contain just seven tracks, with titular single Blackstar packing a running time of ten minutes and containing “Gregorian chants, a soul section, various electronic beat and bleeps, and Bowie’s distinctive vocals. There is no radio edit; it’s all or nothing.”

Blackstar is due for release on January 8th, 2016 – the day Bowie turns 69.

And according to The Times, the disc’s lead single is currently serving as the theme for a new UK TV crime drama called The Last Panthers.

Give it a listen below.
