Earlier this month Melbourne hardcore band Deez Nuts released details of their new album, Word Is Bond, and today they’ve dropped the first taster from the record, What’s Good?.
What’s Good? is a short, thrashing track that sees the band at their heaviest and darkest. Frontman JJ Peters commands the track and its accompanying video with an unrivalled energy and personality.
Word Is Bond is the fourth album to be released by the band and their first with new bassist Sean Kennedy after Jon Green departed last year. Peters said of the new album, “This album, you know what? I’m going to say what’s on my mind. This is the truest album we’ve ever put out.”
The record looks set to be packed with a passionate bunch of songs with Peters adding, “I’m going through real shit, shit I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and so is everyone else in the band. We’re not a bunch of fuckin’ dudes who come from privilege. You can hear this, you can feel this. And that’s because this is a passionate album. And people might sympathise and try to empathise, but they just don’t know.”
It’s said to be a departure from the party atmosphere that permeated 2013’s Bout It!.
The release of What’s Good? comes with more good news for fans. Three more songs are set to be released with videos before the album drops on 24th April via UNFD. Deez Nuts will also release details of an Australian tour shortly.
