After teasing us for 24 odd hours, the Soundwave crew have announced today that this October they will be bringing the zany genius of Devin Townsend Project to Australia for a run of shows that hit Brissy, Sydney, Melbourne and, lucky last, Perth.
For a full two decades now, Townsend has been hailed as one of the most forward-thinking and constantly evolving artists to exist under the umbrella of metal. DTP’s latest album Epicloud is a shining example of his shape-shifting abilities and his inability to lose any momentum.
Townsend is no stranger to our shores though you can be certain that, this time round, he will be a totally reinvented version of what we’ve previously experienced, so if you’re thinking of missing this one out because you caught him last time, you’re just as insane as he is.

UPDATE: Supports for the tour have been announced, with progressive rock outfit Toehider handling the duties for Brisbane and Sydney, Ne Oblivicaris supporting in Melbourne, and Perth crew Voyager opening the show for West Oz.
